Flexible pay — also known as retribución en especie or flexible compensation — is a tax optimisation scheme regulated by article 42.3.a of the Spanish IRPF Law 35/2006. It lets an employee allocate up to €11 per day from their gross salary to pay for work lunches without that portion being taxed as work income.
In practice, the company tops up a card (Cobee, Pluxee, Edenred, Sodexo, Up Spain…) with a monthly balance, and the employee pays for food with that card at any participating restaurant. These cards are Visa or Mastercard with a restricted MCC (Merchant Category Code) for restaurants, so they work at any certified POS that accepts cards — including Gumen's Redsys POS.
The result: the employee's IRPF taxable base is reduced by the amount paid via flexible pay, which translates into more money in their payslip without the company having to raise the gross salary. This isn't a salary bonus — it's a smart redistribution of the already-agreed pay.

Depends on the marginal IRPF bracket (24% to 47%) and the number of days the card is used. An employee earning €30,000 using €11/day × 220 days saves ~€726/year.
Total labour cost doesn't change: flexible pay is deducted from the already-agreed gross salary. The company only pays the platform fee (Cobee/Pluxee/etc.), typically €1–3 per employee per month.

As simple as paying with a Visa or Mastercard at any POS: our Redsys is certified for collective catering, so it accepts any card with a restaurant-restricted MCC.
And if your company uses a platform you don't see here: as long as your card is Visa/MC with MCC 5812 or 5814 (restaurants), it will work at Gumen with no extra setup.
